British Sporting Rifle Club
Electronic Static Targets
As well as the four moving target ranges, the Club also has a six lane static range with the facility to set up four electronically scored sporting targets. Sporting targets used are the German DJV roebuck, fox and boar.
Two matches are shot using the roebuck target;
The ‘Stalkers Test’ - a competition where shooters take two shots from each of five positions that simulate positions likely to be used in the field.
The ‘Buck’ - where shooters have four second timed exposures to shoot at the target from a sitting position.
Whilst named the ‘Sitting Fox’, for the third statics competition it is the fox that is sitting not the shooter, who has to take his shots from a standing position within a one minute time limit.
